When you use TaxMate, you may upload bank transaction CSV files containing financial data. This data is processed in-memory during your session to generate tax calculations. We collect your email address and payment information (via Stripe) when you create an account.
Bank transaction data is processed entirely in-memory on Vercel edge functions. CSV content is not written to disk, stored in databases, or retained after your session ends. Calculation results are returned to your browser and not stored server-side unless you explicitly save them.
Account information (email, subscription status) is stored in Supabase with encryption at rest. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers. We use Clerk for authentication — your password is never stored by TaxMate directly.
If you use the AI Advisory feature (paid tier), your tax calculation results (not raw transaction data) are sent to the Anthropic API for analysis. Anthropic does not retain this data for training. The advisory response is returned to your browser.
TaxMate uses: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Clerk (authentication), Anthropic (AI advisory), Resend (transactional email). Each operates under their own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any third party.
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. Since we do not retain transaction data, there is typically nothing to delete beyond your account information. Contact support@taxmate.co.nz for any privacy requests.
TaxMate uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
